A Review: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream/ Hydro Boost Gel Cream With Sunscreen
I was really excited to try these products when they were first introduced to the market! I love the concept of having a face cream that is light on the skin and extremely moisturizing! There had been so many YouTubers talking about the Neutrogena Hydro Boost products, so when I got them I was excited to use them both! Let's start with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (no sunscreen).
Pros: I love the feel of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream on my skin. It literally felt like I was putting water on my skin and I loved that! I am very much used to using cream based facial moisturizers and I love the feel of those. I also love the slightly cooling sensation you got while applying it to your skin. I found this product to be really great under my makeup. I also feel that it does a great job as primer. There is a silky feeling to your skin once you apply the cream.
Cons: The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream is supposed to moisturize your skin and it doesn't do that well. You have to apply a lot in oder to get that moisturize feeling. I felt that my skin was still very dry after applying the regular amount and I had to double up in order to get my skin not to be dry.
Overall, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream does a not so good job at moisturizing your skin. You have to apply more than usual, lol at least I had to.
I have been using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream with Sunscreen for the past few days and I have a bone to pick with it. This one comes in a tube form and it is much thicker.
Pros: The biggest pro for this product is that it has sunscreen in it! I love that extra protection it gives to your skin. The packaging is small and easy to throw in your bag when traveling, which I have been doing a lot lately! It is easy and light!
Cons: The gel formula has a different feeling than the gel cream without the sunscreen. I suspect, it is because of the sunscreen that is added to the formula. My number one complaint about this product is that it is not moisturizing at all. Again, your skin might be different. But I found my skin to be very dry after I used this and I had to reapply it through out the day which was annoying. If I had makeup on, I would just have to wait till I took my makeup off to reapply. It feels very different from the other gel cream and I would pick that one over this one any day, which is saying a lot because that one wasn't that great.
Overall, these products aren't bad, but I think their claim of keeping your skin hydrated all day might be a bit too much! I found that I had to keep reapplying both gel creams in order to keep my skin moisturized and feeling good.
Have you tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Creams? If so, I would love to hear what you think!!
