It is not easy and the money is not coming fast, but this is how I know I love it; because I still continue to do it because it is something I love. 1. Figure Out What You Want To Write About
It is important to have a different perspective on issues that people are talking about and to be unique. Write what you want to read and what you feel is missing from a particular blogging world. Make sure you stand out because the room is full! There are millions of blogs out there and many of them are doing the same thing. But it is important to know you can do that but do it in a fresh and unique way.
2. Figure Your Blogging Platform
Picking a platform is hard but make sure to do your research on which one to go with it. There are many out there and they include Wordpress, SquareSpace, Wix, Tumblr, and Wordpress.org or if you have the money, you can hire someone to just build you a site. Just remember to figure out what works for you. It is also important to know whether you want to monetize your blog or not, this will help you in deciding which platform to go with. Know that you have to pay for some platforms but many are free. A great beginner tip is to start of on WordPress.com because it will get you prepared to do more in the future. You will need a domain in order to have a website that has the name you want. Example, www.bevseyeview.squarespace.com (will be free) but you want one that is like www.bevseyeview.com. This looks more professional. For this blog, I am use Squarespace and it gives me a lot of control, while most of the coding is done for me.
3. Do Your Research
It is so empowering to know your stuff! Information is power, it will help you know what your doing. You can go to school or take online courses, or read other blogs. Most importantly, google everything and find blogging resources. For example Chloe Digital, Elle & Company, and the blogging series with The Anna Edit and Lily Pebbles is a great place to start.
4. Figure Out Your Schedule
Make sure you know how many times you want to blog?Create a content calendar, so that you will be organize. Pick a certain day where you will post, so that your audience will know when to come back.
